Well, that sucked. We knew FC International would be tough and they came out on all cylinders, harassing us all over the pitch. Neither side had any clear-cut chances, but they won a few corners, and a great header near post off one put them up 1-0. We slowly got ourselves back in the game, but couldn't finish, and that's how the first half ended.
The second half started exactly the opposite, we came out flying and mostly pinned them in their half. Hibs created all kinds of chances, hitting posts, shooting just wide, etc - and when Tomo and Edu finally finished to flip the score around it looked like we were in the driver's seat, 2-1. Then things went horribly wrong - in a span of about 5 minutes, a miscue at the back saw us give away a freebie goal, 2-2, Mike got a second yellow and was tossed, and before we could reorganize they scored again on a nice header, 3-2. We pressed forward for the equalizer in the closing minutes and they caught us on the counter for the 4-2 final. Ouch.
